Transfer Learning With Adam Gold Rush Optimization for Endometrial Disease Classification Using Histopathological Image.

Uterine cancer also referred to as endometrial cancer, which significantly impacts the female reproductive organs. The early diagnosis increases the survival rates and also prevents the progression of endometrial cancer thereby, the novel Transfer Learning based Convolution Neural Network with Adam Gold Rush Optimization (TL-CNN_AdGRO) is proposed to classify endometrial cancer using histopathological images. The histopathological image is fed to the preprocessing phase, which uses an Adaptive Weighted Mean Filter (AWMF). Next, the segmentation of endometrial cancer is utilized by the Directio

WERF Endometriosis Phenome and Biobanking Harmonisation Project for Experimental Models in Endometriosis Research (EPHect-EM-Heterologous): heterologous rodent models.

Endometriosis, defined as the growth of endometrial-like tissues outside the uterus, is a common disease among women. Numerous in vivo rodent models of endometriosis have been developed to explore multiple aspects of this poorly understood disease. Heterologous models utilize human endometrial tissues engrafted into immunocompromized mice, while homologous models engraft rodent endometrium into immunocompetent mice or rats. Heterologous models of endometriosis more closely replicate the human disease; however, the murine humoral immune response must be suppressed to prevent rejection of the xe…

Generation and characterization of a mouse model of conditional Chd4 knockout in the endometrial epithelium.

Chromatin remodeling plays an integral part in endometrial homeostasis through its roles in the maintenance of cell identity, epithelial integrity, and prevention of endometrial disease. Chromodomain-helicase-DNA-binding protein 4 (CHD4) is a chromatin remodeling protein and member of the NuRD complex, which predominantly represses transcription. CHD4 is mutated in endometrial carcinoma, with most mutations resulting in loss of function. CHD4 has been identified as a tumor suppressor and regulator of stemness in human endometrial carcinoma cell lines, but little is known about the tissue-speci

ZMIZ1 and estrogen receptor α form an essential partnership in endometrial biology.

Estrogen receptor α (ESR1) is a pivotal regulator of endometrial homeostasis and reproductive function, yet the coregulators that fine tune its transcriptional activity remain incompletely defined. In this issue of the JCI, Hewitt et al. identified Zinc finger MIZ-type containing 1 (ZMIZ1) as an ESR1 coregulator that is essential for stromal proliferation, decidualization, and overall endometrial integrity. ZMIZ1 deficiency was associated with endometriosis and endometrial cancer, and conditional ablation of Zmiz1 using the PgrCre mouse led to infertility and accelerated fibrosis due to impair

Effects of Exosomes Derived From Eutopic Endometrial Cells in Endometriosis and the Discovery of Related Serum miRNA Biomarkers for Endometriosis.

OBJECTIVE: Exosomes are secreted by most cell types and reflect the internal state of their cells of origin, playing crucial roles in the progression of various pathological conditions. Endometriosis is a chronic, estrogen-dependent inflammatory disease characterized by the ectopic presence of endometrial-like tissue outside the uterus, including in the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and peritoneal cavity. It primarily affects women of reproductive age and is often associated with infertility. Despite its high prevalence, the underlying pathogenesis remains poorly understood, and the high recurrenc

Imaging of endometrial polypoidal lesions of the uterus with Rad-Path correlation.

Endometrial polypoidal lesions of the uterus are very commonly encountered, and may pose a diagnostic dilemma. Ultrasound is used for initial screening, with MRI being used for further characterization. This pictorial review elucidates the imaging appearances of various types of such polyps, along with the classical histopathological appearances. Understanding the imaging features is crucial for accurate diagnosis and management, although histopathological diagnosis remains the gold standard.

Acute myeloid leukaemia with endometrial involvement presenting as abnormal uterine bleeding.

The spread of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) outside of the blood or bone marrow is known as extramedullary involvement, and common sites include the skin, bone and lymph nodes. Here, we describe a case of AML presenting as abnormal uterine bleeding in a pre-menopausal patient. Complete blood count (CBC) was notable for anaemia, thrombocytopaenia and leucocytosis, prompting a stat blood smear that showed increased circulating blasts. Subsequent bone marrow biopsy and analysis confirmed an AML diagnosis, while histological examination of endometrial tissue revealed infiltrating cells positive fo

Metagenomic characterization of the equine endometrial microbiome during anestrus.

The equine uterus is highly interrogated during estrus prior to breeding and establishing pregnancy. Many studies in mares have been performed during estrus under the influence of high estrogen concentrations, including the equine estrual microbiome. To date, it is unknown how the uterine microbiome of the mare is influenced by cyclicity; while, the equine vaginal microbiome is stable throughout the estrous cycle. We hypothesized that differences would exist between the equine endometrial microbiome of mares in estrus and anestrus. The aim of this study was two-fold: to characterize the reside

MicroRNAs, endometrial receptivity and molecular pathways.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a type of specific molecules that control the activities of the uterus, such as the process of cellular maturing and evolution. A lot of substances like growth factors, cytokines, and transcription factors play a role in embryo-endometrial interaction. MiRNAs could regulate various these factors by attaching to the 3' UTR of their mRNAs. Moreover, current research show that miRNAs participate in formation of blood vessels in endometrium (miR-206, miR-17-5p, miR-16-5p…), decidualization (miR-154, miR-181, miR-9…), epithelial-mesenchymal transition (miR-30a-3p), immune res…
