We report about a 52-year-old woman with onset of drug-induced lupus erythematosus (DILE) in sun-exposed areas, under therapy with secukinumab. Topical therapy with a steroid class 3 for 4 weeks showed substantial improvement. The systemic therapy was switched to ustekinumab. DILE is a rare but notable side effect of biologicals in 0.5-1% of the patients and also possible under therapy with IL-17 inhibition. Switch of the biological agent is necessary in most cases.

We report a dramatic case of meningococcal sepsis manifesting as purpura fulminans in an elderly diabetic woman. Hemodynamic instability and severe bilateral cutaneous lesions involving her hands and feet developed rapidly. Specific antibiotic therapy and the administration of inotropic and vasopressor drugs were initiated. The severity and extension of the cutaneous lesions (attributed to purpura fulminans) worsened because of the need for vasoconstrictors for the treatment of septic shock. Bilateral transmetatarsal and metacarpal amputations were required to stabilize the patient.

Azacitidine is a hypomethylating agent used for the treatment of patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). The Montenegro skin test is widely used as a diagnostic method for American cutaneous leishmaniasis (ACL). However, there is little information about the histological changes that occur after administration of the antigen, especially in dogs. Two intradermal reactions were used in mongrel dogs during a clinical and epidemiological study as a diagnostic method for canine cutaneous leishmaniasis at Virginópolis, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Leishvacin and P10,000G were used as antigens. The inflammatory reaction was more intense and diffuse in dogs tested with P10,000G than Leishvacin.
