The effects of polyethyleneimine (PEI) impregnation on the Pb(2+) adsorption kinetics of palm shell-activated carbon and pH profile of bulk solution were investigated. In this work, adsorption and diffusion of trichloroethylene (TCE) and tetrachloroethylene (PCE) in ZSM-5-type zeolites were studied using molecular simulation methods. Grand canonical Monte Carlo technique was to calculate adsorption isotherms and heats of vaporization of TCE and PCE in zeolite. A method is described for the identification of a mixture of carbendazim and linuron. It is based on adsorptive stripping voltammetry at a carbon fiber ultramicroelectrode. Conditions for the determination of carbendazim in a mixture were optimized and the method was applied to soil samples. It was compared to HPLC with spectrophotometric detection, where similar results were obtained.

PURPOSE: We evaluated the adsorption and release of preservatives and a beta-blocking agent (metipranolol) by three different contact lens materials and two collagen shields.
METHODS: We recorded the ultraviolet absorption spectra of these materials before, during, and after extended exposure to pharmaceutical preparations of artificial tears, beta-blocking eye drops, and a contact lens cleaning solution. A study has been made of the adsorption of chlorocomplexes of the first row transition metals by the chelating resin Dowex A-1, and possible mechanisms for adsorption have been reviewed. Relative adsorption follows the series Zn(II) > Co(II) = Fe(III) Cu(II) > Mn(II). Negligible adsorption occurred with Cr(III) and none with V(IV) and Ni(II). Maximum adsorption of Zn(II) occurred from 3M hydrochloric acid and for the other metals from 8M acid.
