Constructing causal inference methods to handle longitudinal data in observational studies is of high interest. In an observational setting, treatment assignment at each clinical visit follows a decision strategy where the treating clinician selects treatment based on current and past clinical measurements as well as treatment histories. These time-dependent structures, coupled with inherent correlations between and within each visit, add on to the data complexity. INTRODUCTION: Hyperinvasive strains of Neisseria meningitidis serogroup C have caused outbreaks of severe disease in Italy. Here, we report the analysis of the migration patterns of C:P1.5-1,10-8:F3-6:ST-11(cc11) meningococcal strains from different Italian regions collected between 2012 and 2017.

Human polycystic echinococcosis is a parasitic infection caused by the larval stage of Echinococcus vogeli, which occurs in rural areas of Central and South America. Until now, little information on the genetic variability of E. vogeli is available. Here, 32 samples from human-excised E. vogeli cysts had a 396-bp sequence of the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase I (COI) gene sequenced and compared to another 17 COI sequences representing nine Echinococcus species. The present analysis revisits the impact of extremely low-frequency magnetic fields (ELF-MF) on melatonin (MLT) levels in human and rat subjects using both a parametric and non-parametric approach.
