BACKGROUND: The purpose of the study was to present the cardiological procedures performed and scintigraphic devices used in Poland in 2019-2021 - based on the results of a nationwide survey.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Forty-three (100%) institutions performing scintigraphic cardiology tests responded to the survey: 29 classic nuclear medicine centers (NM), 4 PET centers, and 10 institutions performing NM and PET examinations.

BACKGROUND: Exertional chest pain/dyspnea or chest pain at rest are the main symptoms of coronary artery disease (CAD), which are traditionally attributed to insufficiency of the epicardial coronary arteries. In 2020, COVID-19 was the third leading cause of death in the US, with increased hospitalizations and mortality linked to factors such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, higher social vulnerability, and lower socioeconomic status. These multiple factors contribute to inequities in COVID-19 outcomes, including among older persons, members of racial/ethnic populations, and persons experiencing homelessness. Perhaps the best pathway to overcome the distressing high degree of death and disability due to COVID-19 has shown to be immunization with widespread acceptance, uptake, and vaccine access.
