OBJECTIVES: To study the perinatal survival and procedure-related (PR)complications after intrauterine transfusions in red cell alloimmunization.
METHODS: Prospective data of 102 women with Rh-alloimmunized pregnancy undergoing intrauterine intravascular transfusion for fetal anemia, from January 2011 to October 2014 were analyzed. Main outcome measures were perinatal survival and procedure-related (PR) complications.

AIMS: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is the most common primary malignancy of the nasopharynx. Due to its local recurrence and distant metastasis, conventional therapy is usually ineffective. MDA-7/IL-24 (melanoma differentiation associated gene 7), a member of the IL10 family of cytokines, inhibits growth of various human cancer cells, but the underlying mechanism is largely unknown. BACKGROUND: Sleeve pneumonectomy is a challenging therapeutic strategy for patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) invading the carina. The aim of this study was to illustrate common indications and individual concepts for surgery and to investigate oncologic outcomes and complications.

A total of 149 patients with multiple myeloma (MM) who received allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HCT) with myeloablative (MAC; n = 38) or reduced-intensity conditioning (RIC; n = 110) regimens at MD Anderson Cancer Center were evaluated. Of the total, 120 (81%) patients had relapsed or had refractory disease. Median age of MM patients was 50 (28-70) years with a followup time of 28.5 (3-164) months. INTRODUCTION: The survival and epidemiology of small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) in Singapore has not been described. We aim to present the characteristics as well as determine the survival outcome and important prognostic factors for SCLC patients.

Carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) is a membrane-associated carbonic anhydrase (CA), strongly induced by hypoxia. BACKGROUND: Metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) carries a dismal prognosis, which is minimally affected by chemotherapy. Solitary brain metastases from NSCLC have been resected with 5-year survivals of 10% to 30%. The objective of this study was to determine if resection of isolated adrenal metastases improves survival.
