PURPOSE: To compare the results of intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection (IMSI) between cycles in which the swim-up (SUP) or the density gradient centrifugation (DGC) techniques were used for sperm preparation.

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) particles found in vivo are heterogeneous in density and size, but their detailed characterization has been restricted by the low titre of HCV in human serum. Previously, our group has found that HCV circulates in blood in association with very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL). Our aim in this study was to characterize HCV RNA-containing membranes and particles in human liver by both density and size and to identify the subcellular compartment(s) where the association with VLDL occurs. A metalloaminopeptidase was identified in culture fluids collected during in vitro cultivation of adult Ascaris suum. The enzyme was purified by anion-exchange and size-exclusion HPLC. We have described previously the presence of binding sites in particulate fractions of the porcine corpus luteum (CL) which were specific for progesterone. Two mucins were isolated from bovine submandibular glands and termed major and minor on a quantitative basis. We have used a library of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against chemosensory cilia of the olfactory epithelium of Rana catesbeiana to identify proteins that are unique to the ciliary membrane. We have investigated effects of histamine on the spontaneous cytotoxic activity of human natural killer (NK) cells in vitro.
