A 58-year-old otherwise healthy man received a diagnosis of choroidal malignant melanoma (CMM) in June 2021 and underwent a single session of (21 Gy) CyberKnife stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT). Eleven months later, we noticed 3+ anterior chamber cells with occasional vitreous cells in the left eye. Though the tumor looked regressed, there were mild optic disc leakage, early hypofluorescent and late hyperfluorescent punctate lesions scattered 360 degrees, and late staining of the mass on fluorescein angiogram. In the study of 38 cases of leukemia, neoplastic infiltration of the brain was the most frequent lesion, occuring in 70,5%, compared to 48,5% for hemorrhage. The leptomeninges were the most frequent site of leukemic infiltration followed by the choroid plexus (57,8%) and the nervous tissue (50%). We present a rare case of a lateral ventricle choroid plexus metastasis arising from thyroid carcinoma in a 62-year-old man. The patient underwent subtotal excision of the intracranial tumour followed by total thyroidectomy with good outcome. We review previous reports of intracranial thyroid metastases and discuss the role of surgical resection, radiosurgery, whole brain radiotherapy and radioactive iodine therapy. There is no consensus regarding treatment in the literature due to small numbers of patients reported. We recommend surgical resection for single accessible lesions.

Monoclonal antibody (MAb) MAb8-1H, which identifies an ocular melanoma-associated antigen, and computer-assisted cytomorphometric analysis were used to investigate antigenic and cellular heterogeneity in four atypical cases of choroidal or ciliary body melanoma. The presence of one or more well-localized, morphologically distinct areas within each uveal melanoma, suggestive of multiple tumor cell populations, was observed by conventional light microscopy. In one choroidal melanoma with an unusual bilobed configuration, MAb8-1H bound only to the anterior lobe composed of spindle melanoma cells.

PURPOSE: Choroid plexus papilloma (CPP) is a rare, benign intraventricular tumor that typically has an excellent long-term survival rate after gross total resection. Nevertheless, some patients develop delayed leptomeningeal dissemination (LMD) years after the initial diagnosis, a phenomenon that remains poorly understood.
