BACKGROUND: Lateral extra-articular augmentation procedures, including lateral extra-articular tenodesis (LET), are advocated in high-risk patients undergoing anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) to provide improved rotational stability and reduce rates of graft rupture postoperatively.
INDICATIONS: Indications for performing a LET concomitantly with ACLR continue to evolve, but are recommended for patients with certain demographics and in the presence of anatomic risk factors for graft rupture.

BACKGROUND: Tearing of the proximal hamstring tendon is a common injury in athletes for which surgical repair is being increasingly utilized. The described techniques for endoscopic repair employ a simple or mattress suture configuration. BACKGROUND: Lesions of the medial collateral ligament (MCL) are the most common knee ligament injuries and, when they occur in isolation, they often progress with satisfactory outcomes using conservative treatment. However, MCL lesions associated with anterior cruciate ligament or posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injuries in knee dislocations should be reconstructed to prevent failure of the central pivot. In knees with combined injuries involving the PCL and the MCL, the confluence of tunnels in the medial femoral condyle can be a potential problem during reconstruction surgery.
