In Turkey, where brucellosis is endemic, a comparison of conventional and molecular genotyping methods has not been published to date. In this study, we investigated the efficacy of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) analysis of rpoB gene in the genotyping of Brucella melitensis strains by sequencing. In light of the molecular genotyping method available now in Turkey, the adequacy of serological typing alone should be re-evaluated as a tool for epidemiologic studies of B. melitensis.

The nucleotide sequence of the SV40 genome region between the Hind K fragment and the Eco RI cleavage site has been determined by a combination of three different approaches : analysis of RNA products obtained by transcription with Escherichia coli DNA dependent RNA polymerase, partial degradations with snake venom exonuclease and base-specific chemical degradation of 5'-terminal labeled restriction fragments. We studied the putative role of the vasopressin receptors in the phenotypic response of steroid-secreting adrenocortical tumors.
