A 54-year-old man presented to the office with gross painless hematuria, dysuria, and urinary frequency. He was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma of the kidney and transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder. The article reviews the presentation, radiology, pathology, and intervention of an uncommon case of synchronous primary carcinomas, and aims to show the importance of continued clinical suspicion for multiple genitourinary primary neoplasms.

Foreign bodies of the urinary bladder may occur by self insertion or migration from the neighbouring organs. All the foreign bodies when left for long act as a nidus for calculus formation. The patient usually presents with dysuria, intermittent urinary tract infection or suprapubic pain. Here we report two cases of vesical foreign body which was removed by the cystoscopy.

This article reviews the basic anatomy and physiology of the genitourinary system and disorders commonly encountered in the primary care setting. The role of the nurse-midwife in the assessment and treatment or referral of complaints of dysuria, hematuria, and incontinence is discussed. The treatment of nonpregnant women with cystitis is addressed; symptoms associated with pelvic relaxation are discussed, and a management scheme for teaching effective pelvic floor exercises is presented.

A double-blind prospective trial investigated effects of Nicergoline on micturitional disorders in 60 selected patients with dysuria in the absence of prostate hypertrophy and neurologic disease. Results evaluated from 29 men treated with the product and 25 receiving placebo, taking into account functional improvement and urinary output variations, showed a statistically significant improvement in patients in the Nicergoline group.

An 8-year-old spayed Portuguese water dog was presented with dysuria, lethargy, and anorexia. A profound neutropenia and pancytopenia were identified. Bone marrow aspirates revealed neutrophilic hyperplasia, a significant left shift, and toxic changes, suggesting immune-mediated destruction as a likely underlying mechanism. Immunosuppressive therapy was instituted and clinical signs improved.

Emphysematous cystitis is a rare disease entity caused by gas fermenting bacterial and fungal pathogens. Clinical symptoms are nonspecific and diagnostic clues often arise from the unanticipated imaging findings. We report a case of 52-year-old male who presented with fever, dysuria and gross hematuria who was found to have emphysematous cystitis.

To study the nature of urogenital involvements in female uro-arthritis 73 consecutive patients with arthritis concomitant with any type of urogenital involvement were examined. The controls were 281 females interviewed only and an additional 83 also gynaecologically examined. A 64-year-old man had progressive dysuria and nocturia for 1 month. Initial MRI and CT revealed localized thickening of the bladder wall with significant enhancement. Meanwhile, the lesion showed intense FDG accumulation on the delayed PET/CT. Taken together, a malignancy was suspected.
