Osteochondroma is a benign cartilaginous neoplasm and the most common benign tumor of bone. Osteochondromas occur primarily in the axial skeleton with a predilection for the distal femur, and relatively few cases occur in the head and neck region. The majority of cases of osteochondromas in the head and neck region affect the mandibular condyle, with fewer cases reported in the skull base and the neck. The work analyses 55 cases of traumatic osteomyelitis of the leg bones, open fractures of the leg bones, and medial fractures of the femoral neck. Patients with medial fractures of the neck of the femur were treated by endoprosthesis after Mur-Kaplan. Endolymphatic antibiotic therapy was included in the complex of therapeutic measures in each group of patients. This method allowed suppuration of the postoperative wounds to be avoided and promoted in this manner rehabilitation of the patients.

Radiological analysis of 61 hips in 32 children served to present natural history of the nonoperatively managed dysplastic hip affected with avascular necrosis of the proximal femur that appeared during treatment. An attempt to establish relationship between the degree of avascular necrosis and radiological state of the hip after growth termination has been made. INTRODUCTION: The approach to the management of aneurysmal bone cysts has evolved over time, with the focus shifting from surgery to less invasive therapeutic modalities. Radiographs an patient histories of 36 children were examined in order to determine radiological signs that would allow a prediction or an early diagnosis of the aseptic necrosis of the femur head nucleus (Luxations-Perthes) during the treatment of hip dysplasia. Necrosis of the nucleus appeared in 17 joints (of 15 children). We had the following findings: a) Mikroepiphyses have a high risk (59%). b) In all cases of necrosis the angles of the femur neck near epiphysis were rounded, while this sign was never found in dysplastic joints without necrosis.

After experimental implantation in non-fractured cadaver femora, the ASIF dynamic hip screw system supported the femoral neck and the lateral proximal femur and prevents deformation, depending on the vector of the resultant force. Three positions of weight-bearing were simulated: near-axial loading of the femoral neck, standing on one leg and standing on two legs. After removal of the metal the bone breaking point was markedly lowered.
