The patient was a 35-year-old man who felt persistent hunger pain for five months. Upper gastrointestinal scope studies revealed a 20-mm polypoid lesion located in the middle body of the stomach. The pathological diagnosis revealed a granuloma in the biopsy specimens. The eradication of Helicobacter pylori had no effect on the patient's abdominal symptoms. Ultimately, the polypoid lesion was resected using endoscopy, and the patient was relieved of his hunger pain. The final diagnosis was a pyogenic granuloma in the stomach. This study is the first report of a pyogenic granuloma in the stomach

Pyogenic granuloma is a benign lesion and usually occurs after trauma. Disseminated pyogenic granuloma, is a rare form of pyogenic granuloma. There are 9 cases of disseminated pyogenic granuloma in literature and most of them are hot milk burns. First case describes an 18- month-old girl who developed disseminated pyogenic granulomas on her right cheek, neck, and right nasal ala. Lesions on her right cheek and neck were excised and sutured primarily. Lesion on right nasal ala was excised and repaired with full thickness skin graft. Second case describes a 7-years- old boy who developed pyogeni

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to retrospectively analyze the clinical, demographic, and pathologic properties of oral pyogenic granuloma occurring in a Brazilian population.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: We retrieved an archival number of 293 cases that were diagnosed as having oral pyogenic granuloma at the Service of Pathological Anatomy, Discipline of Oral Pathology, Department of Dentistry, Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, Brazil, during a 38-year period, from 1970 to 2008. The records were reviewed, and information on gender, age, race, lesion site, predisposing factors

Small bowel hemorrhage is responsible for approximately 4% of all cases of gastrointestinal bleeding. The etiology of bleeding from the small bowel is a tumour in approximately 10% of cases. Pyogenic granuloma is a common inflammatory vascular tumour of the dermis, which rarely occurs in the gastrointestinal tract. Pyogenic granuloma is a rare cause of overt or obscure small bowel bleeding. The present paper reports the first case of pyogenic granuloma presenting as a massive gastrointestinal bleed, and reviews the relevant literature to date regarding the clinical presentation, diagnosis and

This paper presents a case of dentin dysplasia, a rarely reported disorder that is also associated with pyogenic granuloma in a 12-year-old girl. The case presented as excessively mobile teeth that appeared radiographically as rootless teeth and also as a soft tissue lesion in the right maxillary anterior region.

Pyogenic granuloma is a common, acquired, benign vascular lesion of skin and mucous membranes which may occasionally present intravascularly or subcutaneously. Pyogenic granuloma occur in all age groups and although they may eventually regress, removal of unsightly, bleeding or uncomfortably positioned lesions is usually sought before this takes place. This is a retrospective study of 408 cases of pyogenic granuloma that were analysed by the Stoke Mandeville Histopathology laboratory between 1994 and 2004. This study was carried out to review the sex, age and anatomic distribution of the lesio

A 58-year-old man was referred to our department for evaluation and treatment of a therapy-resistant pyogenic granuloma on his right third digit. This biopsy-confirmed lesion was unsuccessfully treated with shave excision and base electrocautery on two separate occasions before the patient presented to our clinic. After completing a 14-week course of twice-weekly imiquimod 5% topical application, this patient's pyogenic granuloma completely resolved. A satisfactory cosmetic outcome was also achieved, with virtually no scarring.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the efficacy of mitomycin C eye drops 0.02% concentration (0.02% MMC) in pyogenic granuloma in anophthalmic socket.
METHODS: Six patients who presented pyogenic granuloma were treated with 0.02% MMC four times a day in fifteen-day cycles with intervals of fifteen days between each cycle. The patients were observed every week.
RESULTS: Among the six studied patients, one presented a complete resolution of the pyogenic granuloma after a ten-day treatment with 0.02% MMC that is, before the end of the first cycle. In two patients, the treatment was successful after two weeks

Chemotherapeutic agents may induce a wide variety of adverse mucocutaneous effects, including nail changes. We present a case of atypical onycholysis, associated with subungual abscess formation, paronychia and pyogenic granuloma resulting from the use of mitozantrone, an antineoplastic cytotoxic agent, in the treatment of metastatic prostate cancer.

A patient showed the "atypical pyogenic granuloma" of the head in combination with atopic dermatitis and proceeding pyogenic granuloma of the back. The diagnostic aspects of angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia (ALHE) including Kimura's disease, subcutaneous ALHE, and atypical pyogenic granuloma are discussed.

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a reactive lesion that most commonly affects the gingiva but may also occur at less frequent intraoral sites, complicating clinical diagnosis, particularly in pediatric patients. This paper reports a case of lingual PG in a seven-year-old girl and provides a descriptive review of published pediatric cases. The lesion developed following a reported episode of local trauma to the tongue, although the specific nature of the trauma was unknown, and presented as a painless, ulcerated nodular growth on the left anterior dorsum of the tongue. An excisional biopsy was perfor

A 6-year-old miniature Shetland pony mare was referred for evaluation of a left corneal mass, which developed from the healing tissue of a corneal traumatic ulceration that had occurred 4 weeks previously. On gross examination, a spherical, smooth-surfaced, and pink-colored lesion of about 1 cm in diameter was protruding from the left palpebral fissure. Ophthalmic examination revealed that it was attached to the scar tissue of the cornea, and that one corpora nigra was adherent to the posterior face of corneal wounded area, without sign of uveitis. The remainder of the ophthalmic examination w

Pyogenic granulomas are benign vascular tumors characterized histologically by a lobular proliferation of capillaries. We report an unusual presentation of a pyogenic granuloma in an elderly patient with a bleeding red nodule on the plantar surface of the foot. Nodular exophytic plantar foot lesions often present a diagnostic challenge, as the differential diagnosis includes benign and malignant entities ranging from eccrine poroma and pyogenic granuloma to Kaposi's sarcoma and amelanotic melanoma. This case highlights the need for an adequate biopsy technique to confirm the diagnosis and guid
