Intravenous leiomyomatosis (IVL) is a relatively novel disease and can be aggressive. Since the first case was reported, it has a history of more than one hundred years, but the clinical incidence is extremely low, which has profound clinical research significance. Hepatocellular carcinoma with extension or metastasis to the right atrium is an uncommon form of cardiac malignancy. The authors report the case of a 51-year-old patient with hepatocellular carcinoma and thrombi in the portal and mesenteric veins, which histopathology revealed to be metastatic. Echocardiography showed a right atrial mass which in this context has to be considered as a possible cardiac metastasis.

The authors report the case of a 36-year-old male who, following investigations for dyspnea, othopnea and peripheral cyanosis, was found to have metastatic intracardiac plasmacytoma. Diagnosis was made initially with transesophageal echocardiography and emergent cardiac surgery was performed. Angiomyolipomas (AMLs) are benign hamartomatous tumours of the kidney that occur sporadically or in association with tuberous sclerosis. Although they are benign lesions, larger tumours can, rarely, behave aggressively and have extrarenal extension. Extension of an AML into the renal veins and inferior vena cava (IVC) is rare. We report a rare case of an AML with extension into the renal vein and IVC up to the right atrium that was successfully managed surgically.

BACKGROUND: Intra-cardiac masses are always a challenging diagnosis, especially when it involves the right side of the heart. There are multiples aetiologies that can be responsible for these masses, namely thrombosis, neoplasm, or vegetations. Occasionally, these may be related to an autoimmune process not yet diagnosed. We present a case of a 17-year-old patient with an exuberant right ventricular mass due to a not yet diagnosed Behçet's disease. The best approach and treatment for these patients remains uncertain.
