Data on the use of infliximab (IFX) in infants with Kawasaki disease (KD) are scant. We retrospectively analyzed data of 35 infants with KD who received IFX. OXA-48 beta-lactamase producers are emerging as an important threat mostly in the Mediterranean area. We report here the molecular epidemiology of a collection of OXA-48 beta-lactamase-positive enterobacterial isolates (n=107) recovered from European and north-African countries between January 2001 and December 2011. This collection included 67 Klebsiella pneumoniae, 24 Escherichia coli and 10 Enterobacter cloacae. There are no evidence-based guidelines about prophylaxis against Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia in inflammatory bowel disease. We report a case of P. jiroveci pneumonia in patient with Crohn's disease receiving infliximab and methotrexate. This case emphasizes the importance of considering the possibility of this infection in inflammatory bowel disease patients treated on biological therapy.

Patients with inflammatory bowel disease are predisposed to opportunistic infections. We report 2 cases of disseminated tuberculosis in adolescents receiving a TNF antagonist, infliximab. Both had negative baseline tuberculin skin tests. Multimodal testing using tuberculin skin tests and interferon gamma release assays at the time of inflammatory bowel disease diagnosis and annually may increase the sensitivity of LTBI testing in these high risk children.

We report a patient with recalcitrant folliculitis decalvans who was placed on infliximab due to failure to respond to numerous immunosuppressive drugs and antibiotics. After the second infusion of infliximab the patient reported a cutaneous eruption to the bilateral groin, penis, scrotum, perineum, and perianal region consistent with genital warts. The case highlights the need to inquire about a past or current history of genital or anal warts prior to the initiation of anti-TNF therapy, particularly with infliximab. If present, consideration should be given to concurrent antiwart therapy.

PURPOSE: To describe a patient with Behçet's disease and anterior uveitis, which was not cured by local and systemic corticosteroid treatments, who underwent trabeculotomy one week after infliximab administration.
