Synthesis of copper hexaferrite magnetic nanoparticles based on carboxymethyl cellulose modified with polyacrylic acid (CMC/PAA/CuFe12O19) for loading and release of Levothyroxine.

Hypothyroidism is a disease that is treated using levothyroxine sodium orally, and its oral use causes some problems in its absorption. A potential alternative to improve its administration is the use of drug delivery systems. This research aimed to prepare CMC/PAA/CuFe12O19 magnetic nano polymer and investigate its performance in the loading and release of Levothyroxine. The CuFe12O19 nanoparticles were synthesized by the co-precipitation method and then CMC/PAA/CuFe12O19 nanopolymer was fabricated to enhance properties. The structure, morphology, magnetic properties, and surface area of CMC/

Propitious catalytic response of immobilized α-amylase from G. thermoleovorans in modified APTES-Fe3O4 NPs for industrial bio-processing.

Challenges in enzyme and product recovery are currently intriguing in modern biotechnology. Coping enzyme stability, shelf life and efficiency, nanomaterials-based immobilization were epitomized of industrial practice. Herein, a α-amylase from Geobacillus thermoleovorans was purified and bound effectively on to a modified 3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES)-Fe3O4 nanoparticle. It was revealed that the carrier-bound enzyme catalysis (pH 8 and 60 °C) was significant in contrast to the free enzyme (pH 7.5 and 55 °C). Furthermore, Zn2+ and Cu2+ were shown to cause inhibitory effects in both enzym

Ultrasmall Fe3O4 nanoparticles self-assembly induced dual-mode T1/T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging and enhanced tumor synergetic theranostics.

Individual theranostic agents with dual-mode MRI responses and therapeutic efficacy have attracted extensive interest due to the real-time monitor and high effective treatment, which endow the providential treatment and avoid the repeated medication with side effects. However, it is difficult to achieve the integrated strategy of MRI and therapeutic drug due to complicated synthesis route, low efficiency and potential biosafety issues. In this study, novel self-assembled ultrasmall Fe3O4 nanoclusters were developed for tumor-targeted dual-mode T1/T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) gu

Modeling Distal Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion in Neonatal Rodents with Magnetic Nanoparticles or Magnetized Red Blood Cells.

It is challenging to establish animal models to mimic perinatal arterial ischemic stroke. Here, we provided two approaches that precisely occlude rodent pups' distal middle cerebral artery of rodent pups at any postnatal age. One uses magnetic nanoparticles to generate platelet-rich thrombus, and the other utilizes magnetized red blood cells (mRBCs) to generate an erythrocyte-rich embolus. Both approaches result in focal cerebral ischemia followed by controllable reperfusion while requiring no arterial surgery.

Fe3O4@SiO2-PMA-Cu magnetic nanoparticles as a novel catalyst for green synthesis of β-thiol-1,4-disubstituted-1,2,3-triazoles.

Источник пометил публикацию как отозванную

The magnetic nanoparticles of Fe3O4 were synthesized through a solid-state reaction of hydrated iron (III) chloride, hydrated iron (II) chloride and NaOH, and then purified by calcination at high temperature. In order to protect ferrite nanoparticles from oxidation and agglomeration, and to manufacture a novel catalytic system of anchored copper on the magnetic substrate, the Fe3O4 was core-shelled by adding tetraethyl orthosilicate. Next, the prepared Fe3O4@SiO2 was supported by phosphomolybdic acid (PMA) as the second layer of nanocomposite at 80 °C in 30 h. Eventually, the new nanocomposite

Ultrasensitive Detection of Bacterial Protein Toxins on Patterned Microarray via Surface Plasmon Resonance Imaging with Signal Amplification by Conjugate Nanoparticle Clusters.

Sensitive detection and monitoring of biological interactions in a high throughput, multiplexed array format has numerous advantages. We report here a method to enhance detection sensitivity in surface plasmon resonance (SPR) spectroscopy and SPR imaging via the effect of accumulation of conjugated nanoparticles of varying sizes. Bacterial cholera toxin (CT) was chosen for the demonstration of enhanced immunoassay by SPR. After immobilization of CT on a gold surface, specific recognition is achieved by biotinylated anti-CT. The signal is amplified by the attachment of biotinylated 20 nm AuNP v

No methods are currently available for rapidly isolating gonadotrophs from the anterior pituitary (AP) in any species. We developed a method for preparing pure bovine gonadotrophs from a heterogeneous AP cell mixture by magnetic separation and our original antibody against the N terminus of bovine gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor (GnRHR). A bovine AP cell mixture was incubated with the anti-GnRHR antibody, anti-dextran antibody-conjugated secondary antibody and dextran-coated magnetic nanoparticles for magnetic isolation. Approximately 5.2 × 106 cells were isolated per AP of Japanese Bl

Organic Solvent-Free, One-Step Engineering of Graphene-Based Magnetic-Responsive Hybrids Using Design of Experiment-Driven Mechanochemistry.

In this study, we propose an organic solvent-free, one-step mechanochemistry approach to engineer water-dispersible graphene oxide/superparamagnetic iron oxide (GO/SPIOs) hybrids, for biomedical applications. Although mechanochemistry has been proposed in the graphene field for applications such as drug loading, exfoliation or polymer-composite formation, this is the first study to report mechanochemistry for preparation of GO/SPIOs hybrids. The statistical design of experiment (DoE) was employed to control the process parameters. DoE has been used to control formulation processes of other typ

In situ growth of monodispersed Fe3O4 nanoparticles on graphene for the removal of heavy metals and aromatic compounds.

We report on the efficient removal of heavy metal ions and aromatic compounds from simulated wastewater with a nanocomposite. The nanocomposite was obtained via thermal decomposition of the precursor Fe(acac)3 onto the surface of graphene, modified by diethylenetriamine pentaacetic anhydride through dopamine. It was found that the maximum adsorption capacity of the nanocomposite toward Cu(2+) and naphthalene was 207.9 and 72.2 mg g(-1) respectively, displaying a high efficiency for the removal of heavy metal ions as well as aromatic compounds at pH 7.0 and 293 K. Glucose coated FeO@Fe3O4 nanoparticles show tunable catalytic reactivity and safety in a 3D hepatic in vitro model.

Iron-oxide magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have been extensively investigated as magnetically actuated nanocatalysts for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. However, because wüstite/magnetite/maghemite phases can interconvert, coexisting Fe2+/Fe3+ species may redirect Fenton-like chemistry and generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) profiles that differ from the intended biocatalytic pathway. Here, we investigate monodisperse biphasic FeO@Fe3O4 core-shell MNPs with an average particle size ⟨d⟩ = 9.6(5) nm, and their glucose-coated analogue, combining EPR radical analysis with toxicity testin

ScFv-conjugated superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles for MRI-based diagnosis in transgenic mouse models of Parkinson's and Huntington's diseases.

It is widely accepted that amyloid oligomers are the most toxic species to initiate the pathologic processes of Parkinson's disease (PD) and Huntingdon's disease (HD). But there is no definitive diagnosis for PD and HD at their early stages. Here, we conjugated an amyloid oligomer-specific scFv antibody (W20) to PEGylated superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) and detected the properties of the SPIONs conjugated with W20. The results showed that W20-SPIONs, with the size of around 11.8 nm in diameter, were stable and nontoxic, and had enough relaxation capacity to be used as an MR

Chemiluminescence functionalized magnetic nanoparticles-based biosensor for sensitive detection of glucose, uric acid, and cholesterol.

Chemiluminescence (CL) biosensors have attracted extensive attention in biomarker detection owing to their high sensitivity and simplicity. However, the advancement of high-performance CL-functionalized nanoparticles (NPs) continues to encounter challenges, such as achieving high luminescence efficiency, ensuring good stability, and enhancing functionality. In this work, CL-functionalized magnetic NPs (CoFe2O4@TA@luminol-Ag NPs) were successfully synthesized. CoFe2O4 NPs were modified with tannic acid (TA) and effectively coated with luminol and silver NPs (Ag NPs) on their surfaces. This conf
