Racism and mental health within humanitarian and development organisations: perspectives from in-house mental health professionals.

INTRODUCTION: Racism is recognised as a concern within humanitarian and development (HD) organisations, yet little research has examined its implications for staff mental health. Notably, the perspectives of in-house mental health professionals (MHPs)-a key but understudied group-have remained absent from the literature. This study addresses this gap by asking three questions: First, how do MHPs perceive and personally experience racism within HD organisations? Second, in what ways does racism affect the mental health of staff, and how do MHPs navigate their role in addressing these impacts? T

Improved mental health for women receiving infant mental health home visiting: a randomized controlled trial.

INTRODUCTION: This study evaluates the impact of a home-based infant mental health intervention on maternal mental health symptoms. Prevalence rates of maternal depression, anxiety and trauma symptoms are quite high during the postpartum period and can contribute to ruptures in the parent-child relationship and infant development. While some infant mental health interventions improve depression, less is known about the impact of home-based or attachment-based psychotherapeutic interventions on maternal anxiety or post traumatic stress disorder. METHOD: Using a randomized controlled trial desi

The purpose of this Review is to mobilise the translation of evidence into prioritised actions that reduce this inequity. The mental health research charity, MQ Mental Health Research, convened an international panel that used roadmapping methods and review evidence to identify key factors, mechanisms, and solutions for premature mortality across the social-ecological system. We identified 12 key overarching risk factors and mechanisms, with more commonaliti
