The ontogeny of human Langerhans cells (LCs) remains poorly characterized, in particular the nature of LC precursors and the factors that may drive LC differentiation. Spinal cord injury (SCI) results in rapid and significant oxidative stress. We have previously demonstrated that administration of polyethylene glycol (PEG) inhibits oxidative stress using an in vitro model of SCI. PURPOSE: To describe a naturally occurring X-linked recessive mutation, no b-wave (nob), that compromises visual transmission between photoreceptors and second-order neurons in mice.
METHODS: Affected mice were identified by recording the light-evoked response of the retina, the electroretinogram (ERG).
