The use of cell-penetrating peptides (CPPs) for the intracellular delivery of pharmaceuticals has progressed from basic research to global clinical studies. The (Li1-x Fe x OH)FeSe superconductor has been suspected of exhibiting long-range magnetic ordering due to Fe substitution in the LiOH layer. However, no direct observation such as magnetic reflection from neutron diffraction has been reported. Here, we use a chemical design strategy to manipulate the doping level of transition metals in the LiOH layer to tune the magnetic properties of the (Li1-x-y Fe x Mn y OD)FeSe system. The effect of substituting iron and zinc for cobalt in CaBaCo4O7 was investigated using neutron diffraction and X-ray absorption spectroscopy techniques. The orthorhombic distortion present in the parent compound CaBaCo4O7 decreases with increasing the content of either Fe or Zn. This study systematically investigated the radiobiological effects of an accelerator-based boron neutron capture therapy (AB-BNCT) system on SAS cells, a human tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) cell line. Using neutron diffraction and the isotopic substitution technique we have investigated the local structure of liquid chloroform. A strong tendency for polar stacking of molecules with collinear alignment of dipole moments is found. We speculate that these polar stacks contribute to the performance of chloroform as a solvent.
