Primosole mandarin is a promising mandarin-like hybrid of Satsuma Miho and Carvalhais mandarin that ripens very early, at the beginning of October, in southern Italy (2). During August and September 1999 and 2000 in Sicily, widespread fruit rot, affecting from 80 to 95% of the total production, was observed in a 4-year-old Primosole mandarin orchard. The purpose of this study was to describe the radiological features of pleural, parenchymal and mediastinal damage due to occupational inhalation of pumice. In total, 31 workers were evaluated for annual follow-up. Spiral computed tomography (CT) was obtained in the three patients with evident parenchymal abnormalities at chest radiograph. BACKGROUNG: The aim of the present study was to determine the prevalence of oral mucosal non-malignant lesions in the Sicilian population. In addition, we evaluated the association between each oral lesion and its risk factors.

MATERIAL AND METHODS: We first screened for cervical spondylotic radiculopathy among the inhabitants of the municipality: (N = 7653, as of the prevalence day, November 1, 1987).
