INTRODUCTION: Posterior urethral strictures after prostatic radiotherapy or surgery for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) refractory to minimal invasive procedures (dilation and/or endoscopic urethrotomy) are challenging to treat. We reviewed our experience with the pedicled island flap technique in severe urethral strictures, especially in regard of the long-term follow-up of functional parameters: micturition patterns and sexual behavior.
