Ectopic pregnancies account for 1.5% to 2% of all pregnancy in the United States. We reviewed the literature for cases in which gynecologic malignancies caused paraneoplastic retinopathy and ultimately led to blindness. Twenty-eight cases were derived from the literature, and one unique case is described from our institution. Of these 28 cases, 14 patients were diagnosed with endometrial cancer, 7 with ovarian cancer, 5 with cervical cancer, 1 fallopian tube cancer and 1 with concomitant endometrial and ovarian cancers. A recently published meta-analysis of 21 studies confirmed a protective effect of tubal ligation on the risk of invasive ovarian cancer. This protective measure has received little attention, particularly due to the elusive underlying mechanism. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the value of laparoscopy alone or combined with hysteroscopy in treating clinically stable interstitial pregnancy.
STUDY DESIGN: Clinically stable women with interstitial pregnancy were enrolled in the study. They were treated either with laparoscopy or with a combination of laparoscopy and hysteroscopy and suction.

PURPOSE: This study was conducted on cryoprotective activity of ethylene glycol (ETG) and propanediol (PROH) on cleavage rate of mouse zygotes.
METHODS: Mouse oocytes were excised from fallopian tube of gonadotropin-treated mice, then inseminated with spermatozoa. After 16.5-17.5 h, zygotes were randomly allocated into three groups; control, toxicity, and frozen. In the latter, zygotes were slowly cooled with ETG and PROH similar to those used for human embryo cryopreservation. The survived zygotes cultured for 120 h and their later stages of development were compared with nonfrozen embryos.
