OBJECTIVE: To determine indications for the use of postmastectomy radiotherapy (PMRT) for patients with invasive breast cancer with involved axillary lymph nodes or locally advanced disease who receive systemic therapy. These guidelines are intended for use in the care of patients outside of clinical trials.
POTENTIAL INTERVENTION: The benefits and risks of PMRT in such patients, as well as subgroups of these patients, were considered. The details of the PMRT technique were also evaluated.

The effective reproduction number, R, is a predominant statistic for tracking infectious disease spread and informing health policies. An estimated R = 1 is universally interpreted as a stability threshold distinguishing epidemic growth (R > 1) from control (R < 1). Minor salivary gland carcinosarcoma is a rare malignancy with an ominous prognosis. This report recounts a single case of supraglottic minor salivary gland carcinosarcoma that was treated aggressively. Within 25 years, 13 girls and 5 boys between the ages of 9 to 20 years were treated for differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) at our institution. In 67% of the cases the diagnosis was made at an advanced stage indicated by cervical lymphnode metastases, two children showed metastases of the lung. Cytokeratins are typical constituents of the cytoskeleton of the epithelial cells and some other cell types. Mammographic screening produces markedly smaller breast cancers with fewer axillary lymph nodes and more ductal carcinoma in situ. We report a large right occipital falcine meningioma, the main presenting feature of which was ipsilateral hemifacial spasm. The patient was relieved of the hemifacial spasm after the supratentorial tumour was resected. The pathogenesis of hemifacial spasm is reviewed in light of this unusual case and the treatment of hemifacial spasm secondary to a tumour is discussed.

Blood flow was measured by colour Doppler ultrasonography in 33 fibroadenomas of size 5-31 mm and 28 malignant breast masses of 8-37 mm visible on ultrasonography. We have reported the usefulness of percutaneous or transurethral whole layer core biopsy (WLCB) of bladder wall for staging of invasive bladder cancer. In an effort to identify reliable criteria for detecting seminal vesicle invasion (SVI) with transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS) in patients with clinically localised prostate cancer, we reviewed the pre-operative sonograms in 230 patients who underwent radical retropubic prostatectomy; 49 patients (21%) had pathologically confirmed SVI. The paper presents a study of completeness of registration of hydatidiform mole and gestational trophoblastic neoplasia in the Swedish Cancer Registry.
