Correction of Non-Uniform Rotational Distortion in the Proximally Controlled Endoscopic OCTA.

Endoscopic Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) can provide high-resolution cross-sectional images for internal organ tissues. Combining the endoscopic imaging with Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA), information of blood vessels in superficial lumen tissues is expected to be acquired. However, in endoscopic OCT systems using proximal scanning probes, performance of OCTA encounters significant challenges due to non-uniform rotational distortion (NURD) caused by the non-constant rotation of the distal imaging unit. In this study, we proposed a registration method for endoscopic OCTA

SDRD-Net: A Symmetric Dual-branch Residual Dense Network for OCT and US Image Fusion.

Ultrasound (US) images have the advantages of no radiation, high penetration, and real-time imaging, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) has the advantage of high resolution. The purpose of fusing endometrial images from optical coherence tomography (OCT) and ultrasound (US) is to combine the advantages of different modalities to ultimately obtain more complete information on endometrial thickness. To better integrate multimodal images, we first proposed a Symmetric Dual-branch Residual Dense (SDRD-Net) network for OCT and US endometrial image fusion. Firstly, using Multi-scale Residual Den

Role of Fundus Autofluorescence in Candida Chorioretinitis: Insights from a Clinical Case.

PURPOSE: To describe a case of mild Endogenous Candida Chorioretinitis (ECC) in a patient with candidemia, highlighting the value of fundus autofluorescence (FAF). METHODS: A case report. RESULTS: A 63-year-old man developed Candida albicans candidemia secondary to septic thrombophlebitis after abdominal surgery. Although he was visually asymptomatic, ophthalmologic evaluation revealed lesions consistent with ECC. FAF showed hyperautofluorescent lesions, including subtle foci missed on fundus exam. High-Definition Optical Coherence Tomography (HD-OCT) revealed inner retinal hyperreflectivity

RECALCITRANT PERIPAPILLARY PACHYCHOROID SYNDROME RESPONDS TO HIGH-DOSE AFLIBERCEPT THERAPY.

PURPOSE: The objective of this study was to describe a case of recalcitrant bilateral peripapillary pachychoroid syndrome treated with high-dose intravitreal aflibercept injections. METHODS: Medical and imaging records were retrospectively evaluated. Multimodal imaging included ultra-wide-field indocyanine green and fluorescein angiography and fundus autofluorescence. Tracked optical coherence tomography B scans were reviewed to assess intraretinal and subretinal fluid, and to measure choroidal thickness. Macular neovascularization was excluded with optical coherence tomography angiography.

Diagnosis and treatment of angiographically unclear coronary lesions.

Although selective coronary angiography is the gold standard diagnostic technique for coronary lesions, this method does not provide all information regarding pathophysiologic mechanisms. We herein describe a patient in their early 60s with a 3-month history of pronounced angina. Coronary angiography revealed a central line of illumination in the proximomedial segment of the right coronary artery, suggesting a chronic coronary dissection/recanalized thrombus, along with positive remodeling and TIMI grade 2 flow. Optical coherence tomography showed a recanalized thrombus and multiple lumens sep

PURPOSE: To present a rare occurrence of bilateral macular hole secondary to vitrectomy that was successfully treated with topical carbonic anhydrase inhibitors and to review the literature for this phenomenon. METHODS: Monthly clinical examination and optical coherence tomography was conducted before and after eight weeks of topical 2% dorzolamide administered twice a day. RESULTS: A 62-year-old man who had bilateral giant retinal tears which were repaired with vitrectomy subsequently presented with bilateral small macular holes of size 74 and 78 μm. Ophthalmological Aspects of von-Hippel-Lindau Syndrome.

Background: von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) syndrome is a multisystem neoplastic disorder involving eyes, central nervous system, kidneys, spine, and other tissues. A retinal capillary hemangioma (RCH) is the earliest manifestation of the VHL disease in most cases.Areas covered:This paper aims to provide an up-to-date review of the current literature about von Hippel-Lindau syndrome. Molecular background, systemic and ocular features of the diseases as well as the utility of newer imaging modalities in diagnosis and monitoring of ocular VHL disease have been described. Besides, we have discussed newer

Purpose: To report a case of acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMN) in Behçet Disease.Case: A 23-year-old male presented with a complaint for central scotoma in his right eye. He had been diagnosed with Behçet Disease 3 years ago. Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was 20/20. Anterior chamber and fundus examinations were unremarkable. Optical coherence tomography revealed a paracentral area of outer nuclear layer thinning. Infrared reflectance showed a well-defined, circular, hyporeflective area. Optical coherence tomography angiography revealed an area of capillary dropout in deep retinal capi

Combination Treatment with Rituximab and Bortezomib in a Patient with Non-Paraneoplastic Autoimmune Retinopathy.

PURPOSE: To describe outcomes of combined rituximab and bortezomib treatment for non-paraneoplastic autoimmune retinopathy. CASE: A 37-year-old female developed photopsias and reduced vision. Electroretinography, optical coherence tomography, and positive serum anti-retinal antibodies were consistent with autoimmune retinopathy. A negative malignancy work-up specified her non-paraneoplastic presentation. Given absence of response to periocular steroids, azathioprine, and methotrexate, a combination of rituximab and bortezomib was initiated as fifth-line therapy. RESULTS: There was no signifi

Synthesis and evaluation of a novel near-infrared fluorescent probe based on succinimidyl-Cys-C(O)-Glu that targets prostate-specific membrane antigen for optical imaging.

Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), which is highly expressed in both localized and metastatic prostate cancer (PCa), is an ideal target for imaging and therapy of PCa. We previously reported radiolabeled asymmetric urea derivatives asa PSMA-targeting radiotracer for single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. Here, based on these radiopharmaceutical probes, we designed a novel near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent imaging probe (800CW-SCE) by chemical conjugation between IRDye 800CW-Maleimide and an asymmetric urea compound, known as PSM
