PURPOSE: To identify the prevalence of risk behaviors and related risk factors in adolescents in Bangkok, Thailand.

A followup study on nonhospitalized spinal cord injury patients using clean intermittent catheterization was conducted to evaluate long-term clean intermittent catheterization for any genitourinary complications, and to institute and evaluate prompt management. A total of 50 patients (36 paraplegics and 14 quadriplegics) was followed for 3 months to 6.5 years (average followup 22 months). All patients had a baseline urodynamic study and renal scan before they were discharged from the hospital. BACKGROUND: To evaluate the level of knowledge among men who have sex with men regarding human papillomavirus (HPV), anal cancer screening, and HPV vaccine.
METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted in 2013 in Belgrade, Serbia, comprising 142 HIV-positive and 128 HIV-negative persons.

The literature has shown that adolescents are exposed to socio-cultural activities that put them at risk of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. To develop effective intervention strategies and programs, it is imperative to understand how the cultural proverbs and myths create sexual norms and shape the worldview of adolescents. The findings indicate that some cultural proverbs and myths negatively influence adolescents hence expose them to risky sexual behaviors.

The effectiveness of the Real Men Are Safe (REMAS) HIV prevention intervention was examined as a function of treatment program modality. REMAS was associated with significantly larger decreases in unprotected sexual occasions than an HIV education control condition in both treatment modalities. REMAS had superior effectiveness for reducing unprotected sexual occasions in the psychosocial outpatient compared to methadone. Although clinical experience and preliminary research suggest that some transgender people are at significant risk for HIV, this stigmatized group has so far been largely ignored in HIV prevention.
