The indirect immunoperoxidase technique was assessed for the serodiagnosis of tsutsugamushi fever (scrub typhus). The antigens were peritoneal smears prepared from mice infected intraperitoneally with the Karp, Kato, and Gilliam strains of Rickettsia tsutsugamushi.
