Previous neuropsychological studies demonstrated various deficits of impulse control in pathological gamblers (PGs). However, there are limited data available on response-inhibition impairment among PGs. Our better understanding of the morphologic spectrum of renal cortical tumors has resulted in a clinically more relevant classification of these tumor types. We now recognize that "granular cell" and "sarcomatoid" renal cell carcinoma are only nonspecific descriptors, and that such features are seen in a variety of types of renal tumors. The authors believe that the recently gained knowledge about molecular-driven antigen expression will play an important role in the characterization, development, and evaluation of targeted therapies in kidney cancer in the coming years.

Trichotillomania and pathologic skin picking are pathologic versions of grooming behaviors. Although mentioned in the psychiatric literature for decades, little is known about how gender influences clinical presentation of these behaviors. OBJECTIVE: Pathological gambling (PG) has been associated with several negative mental health outcomes. We attempted to assess the impact of PG at the level of the psychiatric emergency service (PES).
METHODS: In a first trial, clinical and demographic data were acquired from patients visiting the PES of a major university teaching hospital in downtown Montreal from July 1, 1996, to December 31, 2000. Examination of the oral cavity in 2260 pregnant women revealed 12 cases of pregnancy epulis, an incidence of 0.48%.
