BACKGROUND: This is an unusual presentation of lepromatous leprosy (LL) in a young boy, 12 years of age. The study forms part of a large scale immunotherapeutic trial with Mycobacterium w (M.w) antileprosy vaccine. The trial is being conducted in two major hospitals in New Delhi, India.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: This patient presented with three lesions: one on each forearm and the third on the left leg. He was classified initially as borderline tuberculoid leprosy. Slit-skin smears and histopathology from the lesions proved the diagnosis to be lepromatous leprosy with a bacterial index (BI) 6+.

A case of successful pharmacological therapy of non-vascular locked-in syndrome (LIS) is described. A 22-year-old male experienced aqueductal stenosis following an episode of viral meningitis 11 months prior to admission. A ventriculo-peritoneal shunt was inserted and subsequently revised three times. Following the last procedure, the patient remained mute, quadriplegic and aphagic. INTRODUCTION: Neoadjuvant systemic therapy represents an evolving cornerstone in the multidisciplinary management of urological malignancies. While cisplatin-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy historically represented the sole standard of care for muscle-invasive bladder cancer, novel perioperative regimens - combining preoperative induction with adjuvant maintenance - have established chemotherapy as only a standard of care alongside emerging antibody-drug conjugate and immunotherapy combinations. TME-targeted ADCs offer a paradigm shift by specifically modulating immunosuppressive cellular crosstalk and stromal components to overcome tumor evasion.
