BACKGROUND: Bronchial asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases in childhood, with a current prevalence of 6% to 9%, but a prevalence that is increasing at an alarming rate. Asthma is a complex genetic disorder with strong environmental influence. It imposes a growing burden on our society in terms of morbidity, quality of life, and healthcare costs. BACKGROUND: The purpose of this study was to report the outcome of a large cohort of patients undergoing distal biceps tendon repair. We compared the endobutton and transosseous suture repair techniques, both performed through a 2-incision approach.

An outbreak of leptospirosis in Peddamandem Mandal, Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh occurred during Aug to Oct 2005. Out of 86 single human sera samples of suspected cases collected during the investigation, 49 (56.97%) samples from seven villages were found positive for leptospirosis both by DGM tests and IgM antibodies. Out of total 49 positive cases 16 (47.05%) were male and 33 (69.46%) female patients. The mean age of the positive cases were 42.7 years.
