Evaluation of 7 Tesla pTx Body Coils Regarding Transmit and Receive Performance.

PURPOSE: Most sites develop and use custom coils for 7 T body MRI since no standard pTx body coil exists, leading to diverse coil designs differing in transmit element type, layout, and number of receive channels. This study investigates and compares eight existing coils, including one remote body coil array and seven local arrays, regarding their transmit and receive performance. METHODS: Phantom measurements were conducted with all coils on the same 7 T scanner, using the same phantom and imaging protocol. Transmit performance was compared in terms of B1 + efficiency and coverage. Receive p

Development of prison-based parent-child joint intervention for incarcerated fathers: protocol for mixed-methods study.

INTRODUCTION: Paternal incarceration represents a significant stressor that disrupts family cohesion, undermines paternal identity and adversely affects children's psychosocial well-being. While family-focused programmes show promise in improving outcomes for incarcerated parents and their children, culturally attuned prison-based parenting interventions remain underdeveloped and scarce, particularly in Asian contexts. To address this gap, a local parenting intervention grounded in the Double ABCX model of family resilience, the 'Be My Hero' programme, was designed for incarcerated fathers in

Research Mentorship for Undergraduate Medical Students in Low-Income Settings: A Perspective from Uganda.

Research mentorship is widely regarded as the single most effective route into research for medical students, yet it remains least accessible in low-income settings, where mentor time, institutional funding, and ethical infrastructure are all constrained. This Perspective, a descriptive account of early implementation experience rather than a formal program evaluation, presents the design and implementation of a phased, student-led research mentorship program for medical students at Makerere University, Uganda, and argues that closing this gap requires redesigning mentorship models rather than

Machine-learned interatomic potentials for battery materials: from fundamental methodology to emerging applications in electrodes, electrolytes, and interfaces.

The rapid expansion of battery technologies beyond conventional lithium-ion systems has created an urgent demand for predictive, atomistic-scale simulation tools capable of addressing increasingly complex materials and interfaces. While first-principles calculations have played a central role in elucidating fundamental properties such as redox potentials, phase stability, and ion diffusion, its computational cost severely limits accessible system sizes and timescales. As a consequence, large-scale phenomena including defect-mediated transport, interfacial reactions, and mesoscale structural ev

Bidirectional associations between protective behavioral strategies for cannabis use and cannabis outcomes: A cross-lagged longitudinal approach.

Although the use of cannabis Protective Behavioral Strategies (PBS) is associated with lower consumption and fewer harms, most research has relied on cross-sectional designs, leaving the within-person directionality of these associations unclear. This study examined the bidirectional associations between PBS use and cannabis outcomes (frequency, quantity, and negative consequences) over a 15-month period and explored sex differences. We employed a three-wave longitudinal design (baseline, 3-, and 15-month follow-ups) and used a targeted sampling procedure to recruit a community-based sample of

Innovation in sepsis trials: rethinking endpoints, statistics and patient stratification.

Despite extensive research, effective causal therapies for sepsis remain elusive, highlighting a persistent translational gap between biological understanding and clinical outcomes. Traditional randomised clinical trials (RCTs) have largely failed, likely due to profound patient heterogeneity, dynamic immune trajectories, and reliance on broad syndromic definitions coupled with mortality-centric endpoints. Such designs risk diluting treatment effects and obscuring biologically meaningful signals. Recent studies, however, suggest that precision medicine approaches may overcome these limitations

Design and Standardization of a Mandibular Injury Model for the Study of Craniofacial Tissue Regeneration in the Ambystoma mexicanum Model.

The craniofacial complex is an anatomical region that, in humans, can be affected by developmental malformations, trauma, and pathologies such as cancer, leading to the loss of affected tissues. This creates a need to seek strategies for regenerating these lost tissues. This has promoted the study of cellular and molecular mechanisms that orchestrate the regenerative response of injured craniofacial structures in regenerating species, with Ambystoma mexicanum (A. mexicanum) being a species of great interest. In accordance with the above, a reproducible surgical lesion model was designed and st
