From 1990 to 1994, we prospectively evaluated patients with cancer or aplastic anemia who had granulocyte counts of less than 500/mm3 and fever, in order to study infections in febrile granulocytopenic patients in Taiwan. Information on 4049 cases of sheep blowfly strike on 495 farms in England and Wales was gathered in a longitudinal survey conducted in 1991.
