Peyronie's disease (PD) is a wound-healing disorder in which a fibrotic plaque forms in the tunica albuginea layer of the penis. It clinically presents as any combination of penile pain, angulation, and erectile dysfunction. Recent studies indicate that PD has a prevalence of 3%-9% in adult men. Although the exact etiology has not been established, PD likely results from a predisposing genetic susceptibility combined with an inciting event such as microtrauma during intercourse. PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to evaluate the 2-year clinical outcome of patients who underwent holmium laser resection of the prostate (HoLRP) for management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: All patients who underwent HoLRP before October 1995 were contacted by mail. Each patient completed an American Urological Association (AUA) symptom score index, a questionnaire, and a urinary flow rate. OBJECTIVES: To document the effects of pelvic radiotherapy on bowel, bladder, and sexual function, as reported by the patient.
METHODS: A confidential questionnaire was distributed to 202 prostate cancer patients. Mean age was 70 years (range, 49 to 87) and mean follow-up was 33 months (range, 12 to 72). Radiation was given by a standard four field box technique on a linear accelerator to 60 to 66 Gy over 6.5 weeks. Treatment was limited to the prostate and seminal vesicles for small well-differentiated tumors, but otherwise included internal and external iliac nodes.

The long-term urogenital dysfunctions in 46 of 104 surviving patients submitted to abdominoperineal resection for rectal carcinoma between 1972 and 1986 were collected and assessed.
