The role of metal free dual catalysis in the hydrogen sulfide (H2S)-induced activation of carbon dioxide (CO2) and subsequent decomposition of resulting monothiolcarbonic acid in the gas phase has been explored. The results suggest that substituted amines and monocarboxylic type organic or inorganic acids via dual activation mechanisms promote both activation and decomposition reactions, implying that the judicious selection of a dual catalyst is crucial to the efficient C-S bond formation via CO2 activation. The sensing of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) has become a long-time challenging task. In this work, we developed a general strategy for sensing of H2S utilizing postsynthetic modification of a nano metal-organic frameworks (MOF) UiO-66-(COOH)2 with Eu3+ and Cu2+ ions. The nano MOF Eu3+/Cu2+@UiO-66-(COOH)2 displays the characteristic Eu3+ sharp emissions and the broad ligand-centered (LC) emission simultaneously. In this study, gold (Au)-iron (Fe) nanoagglomerates were capped by a polymer mixture (PM) consisting of poly(lactide-co-glycolic acid), protamine sulfate, and poly-l-lysine via floating self-assembly in a single-pass aerosol configuration as multibiofunctional nanoplatforms. We report a rare case of metal-induced dermatitis after coil embolization for cerebral aneurysm. A 51-year-old woman experienced a rash around the lips and neck 3 weeks after coil embolization. Judging from the clinical course and results of several patch tests, platinum coils were considered to have induced the dermatitis. Symptoms were relieved with administration of oral steroids.
