This study aims to evaluate the in vivo performance of ordered mesoporous silica (OMS) as a carrier for poorly water soluble drugs. Itraconazole was selected as model compound. Physicochemical characterization was carried out by SEM, TEM, nitrogen adsorption, DSC, TGA and in vitro dissolution. After loading itraconazole into OMS, its oral bioavailability was compared with the crystalline drug and the marketed product Sporanox in rabbits and dogs. The gliding surface of the A1 pulley was studied in 20 cases of primary trigger finger by scanning and transmission electron microscope. In 12 normal specimens, the whole deep surface was covered uniformly by an amorphous extracellular matrix. The Drosophila strawberry (sty) locus was isolated by P-element insertion mutagenesis in a screen for mutations affecting eye development. Analysis of the mutant phenotype and the putative expression pattern of the sty gene suggested that it has multiple functions. In a variety of brain injury models, both reactive axonal change and microvascular abnormalities occur. Development of a stretch injury model in the guinea pig optic nerve has allowed for the characterization of the early axonal response to injury.
