Effect of Structured Exercise for the Rehabilitation of Patients With Chronic Parkinson's Disease.

Introduction Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurological condition that gradually affects movement, balance, and independence in daily activities. While medication remains the primary form of treatment, it often does not fully address functional limitations or postural instability. In recent years, structured exercise has gained importance as a supportive rehabilitation approach due to its potential to enhance motor function and promote neural adaptability. This study was designed to assess the effect of a structured exercise program on functional mobility, balance, and disease severity

Measuring electroretinograms in tree shrews with a portable electrophysiology device.

PURPOSE: The RETeval portable flash electrophysiology device is extensively used for assessing retinal function in humans. However, its utility in measuring electroretinograms in preclinical studies has been less explored. Tree shrews (small diurnal mammals closely related to primates) are a well-established animal model of emmetropization known to exhibit robust responses to visual cues and mimic human juvenile-onset myopia. This study aimed to evaluate the intra- and inter-session repeatability of full-field photopic electroretinograms (ERGs) recorded using the RETeval system in tree shrews.

Beyond depression symptoms: the default mode network as a predictor of antidepressant response.

Antidepressant efficacy for major depressive disorder (MDD) remains limited, with the neural mechanisms underlying treatment response poorly understood. The default mode network (DMN), particularly the connectivity between the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) and posterior cingulate cortex (PCC), has been implicated in MDD pathophysiology and may be linked to treatment outcomes. However, its potential as a biomarker for antidepressant response has not been validated. Here, we investigate the relationship between DMN connectivity and antidepressant treatment response in MDD. Drift-Robust Lightweight Deep Learning on Open Gas Sensor Benchmarks: A Reproducible Architecture Study with CBRN Applicability Mapping.

Resource-constrained edge processors deployed on unmanned aerial vehicles and wearable platforms require compact, drift-robust gas classification models for a range of environmental and security monitoring applications, including CBRN-motivated scenarios. Existing approaches rely on server-grade architectures incompatible with edge-board-scale deployment, or on classifiers that chemically degrade severely under long-term sensor drift. Each UCI gas class was mapped to a CBRN behavioral category based on physicochemical analogy (molecular functional group, vapor pressure, and metal-oxide semicon
