Only 1% of all tendon injuries affect the triceps tendon, making triceps ruptures very rare. An acute rupture can therefore easily be missed due to a low degree of suspicion. We report 25 patients (20 female) aged 34 to 74 years old, with monoarticular synovial chondromatosis. Affected joints were the knee in 25 cases, the ankle in one case and the elbow in one case. Sixty-one amputation sites in 43 electrically injured men were examined for significant new bone formation.
