This study presents the clinical outcomes of 35 hands with Dupuytren's Disease treated with the McCash technique between 1990 and 2009. Of the 31 patients (28 males and three females, mean age 53 yrs), four patients had bilateral involvement (12.9%). Cryptosporidium is the main origin of worldwide waterborne epidemic outbreaks caused by protozoan parasites. Its resilience to water chemical treatments and the absence of therapy led to consider it as a reference pathogen to assess water quality and as a possible bioterrorism agent. We here show that an electrical impedance-based device is able to get insights on Cryptosporidium development on a cell culture and to quantify sample infectivity. HCT-8 cells were grown to confluency on Interdigitated Microelectrode Arrays (IMA's) during 76h and then infected by Cryptosporidium parvum during 60h.

Thrombectomy in coronary arteries and peripheral vasculature is a common procedure performed with electromechanical thrombectomy systems and basic syringe-catheter combinations. Electromechanical systems are associated with speed, power, high-cost, and complexity while basic syringe aspiration systems are associated with ease-of-use, lower cost, and less aspiration force. OBJECTIVE: To carry out an in vitro study of Boussignac CPAP valve performance with a new humidification method, using a heated humidifier.
METHODS: Two heated humidifiers were evaluated: Fisher & Paykel MR850, and Covidien Kendall Aerodyne 2000. Baseline measurements were taken in all experimental conditions without humidification. The Boussignac valve was adapted to the input of the humidification chamber. The system was connected to a test lung to assess the degree of pressurization. Hygrometric and pressure measurements were performed with the following gas flows: 10, 20, 30 and 40 L/min.

Two different nonthermal plasma reactors at atmospheric pressure were assessed for the first time for cyanide removal (1 mg L(-1)) from aqueous solutions (0.025 M NaHCO(3)/NaOH buffer, pH 11) at laboratory scale.
