A 54-year old male patient was admitted with a tentative diagnosis of biliary pancreatitis. After 3 days, he developed an acute abdomen with a pneumoperitoneum. A laparotomy was performed: multiple perforations of the terminal ileum and a necrotic gallbladder were found. A right hemicolectomy with 30 cm of the terminal ileum and a cholecystectomy were carried out. This is a case report of an elderly woman who presented with a history of epigastric pain and persistent vomiting diagnosed initially as a duodenal ulcer, later as a pyloric stenosis and at laparotomy was found to have an anterior diaphragmatic hernia with gastric volvulus. A 9-week-old boy developed massive postoperative abdominal distension following a Fredet-Ramstedt pyloromyotomy for hypertrophic pyloric stenosis. A plain abdominal X-ray film was suggestive of a tension pneumoperitoneum. Colposuspension has emerged as the "golden standard" for the surgical treatment of female urinary incontinence. A case of septic pelvic thrombophlebitis is reported. This presented as back pain and leg weakness 18 days after regional anaesthesia for caesarean section. OBJECTIVE: This case illustrates the diagnostic problems encountered in a patient with posttraumatic retroperitoneal abscess caused by perforation of the posterior wall of the cecum, simulating a retroperitoneal hematoma. Because standard diagnostic techniques failed to make early diagnosis, delayed laparotomy and right colectomy with primary repair were performed. The mechanism of the lesion is uncertain but could be a compressive force and direct injury to the cecum by the seat belt.

Crossed renal ectopia is an unusual anomaly, 90% of which is fused to the ipsilateral kidney. Multicystic dysplasia in association with crossed non-fused renal ectopia is a very rare phenomenon and can produce a palpable abdominal mass. We report a 2-year old girl who presented with a mass in the abdomen. Detailed evaluation including laparotomy confirmed a diagnosis of multicystic dysplasia in a crossed non-fused ectopic kidney. This diagnostic entity should be considered, when a mass is found in the abdomen or pelvis, and when no kidney can be found in it's normal ipsilateral position.
