High-resolution microscopy has been used to investigate the mechanism of the migration of cytoplasmic droplets during epididymal maturation of guinea pig spermatozoa. The growth and virulence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis depends on its ability to scavenge host iron, an essential and limited micronutrient in vivo. The activities of levofloxacin and ofloxacin against 22 clinical legionella isolates was determined by microbroth dilution susceptibility testing. We have compared hookworm infection intensity, as determined by fecal egg count, and circulating levels of IgE and autoantibodies to IgE in atopic and nonatopic parasitized (predominantly hookworm-infected) patients from Kebasob village on Karkar Island, Papua New Guinea.
