The authors give a description of the anatomy and topography of the tendinous arch of the pelvic fascia (TAPF), in order to facilitate its location during surgery. 35 TAPF in 25 female cadavers were dissected. The aim of the study was to analyze the structure, relations and insertions of the pubourethral ligament in the living female. Thirty-five women, mean age 44 years, were studied. The intravaginal slingplasty (IVS) procedure, as performed via two paraurethral incisions, allowed immediate access to the structures in this area, the urethra, vaginal hammock, pubourethral ligaments and anterior portion of the pubococcygeus muscle. To reduce the high morbidity rate associated with esophageal surgery, we have developed a technique of thoracoscopic esophagectomy. A feasibility study was first carried out in an animal model and a specific instrument was developed for this purpose. Esophagectomy using a right thoracoscopic approach was attempted in 15 patients, 13 males and 2 females whose average age was 48 years. A retrospective study compiles the therapy results of 164 evaluable patients with lingual tumors who had been irradiated primarily or as par … uence on the prognosis. For the irradiation of regional lymph nodes which has to be performed after neck dissection, too, 45 to 50 Gy should be given within four to five weeks. This dose should be increased by about 10 to 15 Gy in case of manifestations in extended regions. The excellent efficiency of intraoral electron irradiation is pointed out.

Data analysis of my experience with the implantation of the artificial sphincter shows an overall success rate of 84%. These results are in 139 females ranging from 5 to 84 years of age.
