BACKGROUND: Cryptococcal epidemiology is changing in the modern antiretroviral era, and immune status informs outcomes. We describe the differences in clinical presentation and mortality of cryptococcosis by immune status in the antiretroviral therapy era.

Therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) is now widely used in therapy of multiple diseases in children, by removing the plasma with pathogenic agents from patients. BACKGROUND: Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a rare severe clinical syndrome. HLH manifesting during pregnancy has been paid much attention in recent years. Despite the specificity of pregnancy-related HLH, there has not been any consensus regarding its treatment. According to a previous study, corticosteroid/IVIG is the mainstream therapy; however, the efficacy is controversial. PURPOSE: We aimed to evaluate therapeutic results of radiotherapy for gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphomas.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: We reviewed retrospectively the records of 11 patients presenting with gastric MALT lymphoma treated between 1993 and 2014. Patients with low-grade lymphoma in failure after helicobacter eradication had exclusive gastric external radiotherapy.
