Usefulness of indigo carmine chromoendoscopy for detecting gastric cancer and gastric adenoma during upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (INDIGO study): protocol for a prospective multicentre observational study.

INTRODUCTION: Early gastric cancer is characterised by subtle mucosal and colour changes that frequently lead to missed lesions during routine endoscopy, making detection difficult. Indigo carmine spraying is a classical chromoendoscopic method to enhance mucosal surface irregularities and has been believed to have the potential to facilitate the detection of early gastric neoplasia. This method is widely used in Japan; however, whether it improves gastric neoplasm detection remains unclear. In this prospective study, we aim to evaluate the usefulness of indigo carmine spraying for detecting g

Low-Grade Appendiceal Mucinous Neoplasm With Discontinuous Mucin Infiltration Into the Cecal Wall: A Case Report.

Low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm (LAMN) can lead to intraperitoneal dissemination and subsequent pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP). Therefore, achieving complete resection, typically by appendectomy, is considered important for curative treatment. We report a case in which discontinuous mucin infiltration into the cecal wall was identified only after secondary resection, providing insight into the extent of surgical resection. To the best of our knowledge, such cases appear to be rare, with limited reports in the literature. A 60-year-old female was incidentally found to have an enlarged app

Multicentre, double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled study on the prophylactic use of naldemedine for opioid-induced nausea and vomiting in patients with cancer (POSEIDON study): a protocol paper.

INTRODUCTION: Opioid-induced nausea and vomiting (OINV) in patients with cancer imposes a substantial clinical burden and may compromise adherence to opioid therapy. Naldemedine, a peripheral μ-opioid receptor antagonist, is currently approved for the treatment of opioid-induced constipation. Recent evidence suggests similar benefits for the treatment of OINV. This study aims to evaluate the preventive effect of naldemedine on OINV in patients with cancer pain initiating opioid analgesics. METHODS AND ANALYSIS: This multicentre, double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled, parallel-group com

Resilience factors, pain, and physical activity in adolescent chronic musculoskeletal pain: Design and protocol of a pilot phase 2 single-group, non-randomized clinical trial.

INTRODUCTION: Chronic musculoskeletal pain (CMSKP) in adolescence is associated with physical, psychological, social, and academic impairment and increased risk for chronic pain in adulthood. Although physical activity interventions are an evidence-based approach for managing pediatric chronic pain, many adolescents with CMSKP avoid physical activity due to fear of increased pain, low confidence in physical functioning, and other pain-avoidance behaviors. Resilience-focused interventions targeting self-efficacy, motivation, and mental flexibility may improve engagement in valued activities des

Prediction model for survival outcome in patients with acute myeloid leukemia: a multicenter prospective cohort study from Thai Acute Leukemia Working Group.

INTRODUCTION: Despite the development of advanced therapeutic approaches in the last two decades, acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has a poor prognosis, especially in older patients. The main causes of death are refractory/relapsed disease, fatal bleeding, or serious infection. A model to predict survival in patients with AML is necessary for clinicians to make decisions regarding appropriate treatment. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the predictive factors for death and generate a model to predict survival in patients with AML. METHODS: We conducted a multicenter prospective cohort study acr

Responding to the increase in substance use, HIV, HCV, and overdose in New England (RISE-NE): Protocol for a prospective cohort study.

BACKGROUND: High levels of opioid use, early introduction of drug supply contaminants, and increasing polysubstance use have led to intersecting epidemics of HIV, HCV, and overdose among people who use drugs (PWUD) in New England. Prevention services (e.g., syringe service programs, HIV testing) have been available in parts of New England for decades, yet significant service delivery gaps exist outside of major metropolitan areas. Further, racially minoritized PWUD face heightened discrimination in service settings and may be reluctant to access services. Our five-year, prospective cohort stud

Building sustainable multiple sclerosis registries in Latin America: A practical framework for real-world evidence generation and healthcare access.

UNLABELLED: Real-world evidence (RWE) plays an increasingly important role in multiple sclerosis (MS) and related disorders, complementing randomized clinical trials by capturing effectiveness, safety, treatment persistence, and access patterns in routine care. In Latin America (LATAM), fragmented healthcare systems and structural inequities in access to diagnosis, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), biomarkers, and high-cost therapies underscore the need for regionally applicable real-world data. OBJECTIVES: To provide a practical methodological framework for the design, implementation, and su
