We describe 47 patients with lymphoma and failed prior autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) who received TLI-ATG (anti-thymocyte globulin) conditioning followed by allogeneic HCT. Thirty-two patients had non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL; diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (n=19), T-cell NHL (n=6), mantle cell lymphoma (n=4) or other B-cell subtypes (n=3)), and 15 had Hodgkin lymphoma. The median follow-up was 4.9 (range, 2.1-11.9) years. The cumulative incidence of grade II-IV acute GvHD at day +100 was 12%, and the cumulative incidence of extensive chronic GvHD at 1 year was 36%. The 3-yea

This retrospective study aimed to describe and classify cats with intraocular lymphoma, determine the proportion of cases with presumed solitary ocular lymphoma (PSOL) compared with ocular manifestations of multicentric disease and assess the clinical outcomes of these patients. One hundred seventy-two cases identified through biopsy submissions were reviewed histologically; 163 of these cases were subtyped according to the WHO classification system. Cases were categorized as having PSOL or ocular lymphoma with suspected systemic involvement (SSI) based on submission forms and follow-up data.

Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitors (BTKis) have markedly improved the treatment landscape for B cell malignancies, including chronic lymphocytic leukemia, mantle cell lymphoma, diffuse large B cell lymphoma, and Waldenström's macroglobulinemia, since the introduction of the first-in-class BTKi, ibrutinib, a decade ago. Despite their clinical success, the emergence of resistance to BTKis poses a significant therapeutic challenge. The mechanisms of resistance are multifactorial and include genetic mutations, activation of alternative oncogenic signaling pathways, dysregulated protein expression,

The expression of five cellular adhesion molecules (CAMs), CD54, CD58, CD11a, CD29 and CD49d, was studied in 113 B cell non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (NHL) and in normal B cells from 12 control lymph nodes. Rather than reporting the percentage of positive cells, which does not discriminate between NHL subtypes, we quantified the intensity of CAM expression using flow cytometry. Apart from CD49d the expression of all these CAMs was statistically different among the NHL subtypes as defined by the REAL classification. Low grade NHL-small lymphocytic, follicular and mantle cell lymphoma--which are deriv

Recombinant DNA technology has provided a wealth of new observations in the study of lymphoma. Progress has been enhanced by the unique rearrangement of immune-specific genes during normal lymphocyte differentiation. Because these gene rearrangements are irreversible and are inherited in all cellular progeny, lymphoid tumors have a monoclonal genomic structure. Molecular analysis of genomic structure is a powerful new method of assessing clonality and lineage to supplement histologic examination in achieving accurate diagnosis and staging of lymphomas. Furthermore, the frequent occurrence of t

The management of lymphoma in patients with primary immunodeficiency (PID) is challenging because of its poor prognosis and complex therapeutic approaches. We conducted a systematic literature review of case-reports, case-series, and cohorts indexed in MEDLINE reporting the association of lymphoma and PID. One hundred and eighty-two articles were selected out of 787. We identified 386 cases. Median age at diagnosis of PID and lymphoma was 9.5 and 12 years old, respectively. T-cell deficiencies were the main PIDs associated with lymphoma (57%). The most prevalent lymphoma was diffuse large B-ce

Lymphomatoid granulomatosis (LYG) is a rare B-cell lymphoproliferative disorder predominantly involving the lungs, but poorly-recognized among clinicians and pathologists. It is an Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-driven disease mimicking several other diseases on clinical and radiological grounds, generally showing multiple, bilateral nodular, ill-defined infiltrates of the lungs tending to coalescence and/or cavitation. LYG often affects middle-aged males with an underlying immunodeficiency and commonly involves skin and central nervous system during disease progression. Diagnosis requires a generou

BACKGROUND: JL1, a CD43 epitope and mucin family cell surface glycoprotein, is expressed on leukemic cells. An anti-JL1 antibody combined with a toxic substance can have targeted therapeutic effects against JL1-positive leukemia; however, JL1 expression on bone marrow (BM) lymphoma cells has not been assessed using flow cytometry. We investigated JL1 expression on BM lymphoma cells from patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) to assess the potential of JL1 as a therapeutic target.
METHODS: Patients with BM involvement of mature B-cell (N=44) or T- and natural killer (NK)-cell (N=4) lymphomas

Growing evidence links the aggressiveness of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, especially the activated B cell-like type diffuse large B cell lymphomas (ABC-DLBCLs) to Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9)/MyD88 and STAT3 transcription factor signaling. Here, we describe a dual-function molecule consisting of a clinically relevant TLR9 agonist (CpG7909) and a STAT3 inhibitor in the form of a high-affinity decoy oligodeoxynucleotide (dODN). The CpG-STAT3dODN blocked STAT3 DNA binding and activity, thus reducing expression of downstream target genes, such as MYC and BCL2L1, in human and mouse lymphoma cells. We fur

BACKGROUND: Primary cutaneous lymphomas (PCLs) refer to cutaneous lymphomas that primarily develop in the skin with no evidence of extracutaneous disease at the time of diagnosis. The epidemiological and clinical data of PCLs in Thailand are lacking.
OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the frequency, demographic data, and clinical characteristics of different subtypes of PCLs in a tertiary care university hospital.
METHODS: In total, 137 patients with PCLs diagnosed in our hospital in 2008-2017 were retrospectively reviewed.
RESULTS: Of the 137 patients, 57 (41.6%) were male and 80 (58.4%) were female
