Surface engineered magnetic nanoparticles (Fe(3)O(4)) were synthesized by facile soft-chemical approaches. XRD and TEM analyses reveal the formation of single-phase Fe(3)O(4) inverse spinel nanostructures. The functionalization of Fe(3)O(4) nanoparticles with carboxyl (succinic acid), amine (ethylenediamine) and thiol (2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid) were evident from FTIR spectra, elemental analysis and zeta-potential measurements. The performance of Cu-BTC metal organic framework for carbon tetrachloride removal from air has been studied using molecular simulations. According to our results, this material shows extremely high adsorption selectivity in favour of carbon tetrachloride. To characterize in-stent restenosis after the implantation of sirolimus-eluting stents (SES), paclitaxel-eluting stents (PES), tacrolimus-eluting stents (TES), and zotarolimus-eluting stents (ZES), 25 patients treated with drug-eluting stents (DES; 9 PES, 10 SES, 4 TES, and 2 ZES) and 19 with bare-metal stents (BMS) underwent directional coronary atherectomy for in-stent restenosis 4 to 36 months after implantation.
