A common complication of sinus augmentation is perforation of the sinus membrane during augmentation and/or implant placement. This retrospective study examines the effect of sinus membrane perforation with regard to graft survival and implant integration. PURPOSE: To evaluate a modified osteotome sinus floor elevation technique with immediate postextraction implant placement and the adjunct of a platelet-derived fibrin plug for the rehabilitation of maxillary premolar sites.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Fifteen patients with nonrestorable fractured endodontically treated maxillary premolars were consecutively enrolled in the study. After extraction, the membrane was gradually elevated using osteotomes, with the interposition of a fibrin clot. Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a chronic autoimmune disorder with a fluctuating clinical course. The aim of immunotherapy is to bring about long-term remission. We evaluated the safety and efficacy of cyclophosphamide in generalized MG. We also highlight the limitations of cyclophosphamide therapy in inducing long-term remission.
