Intracranial intravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia (IPEH) is very rare, and to our knowledge long-term follow-up results have not been previously published. An 11-year-old boy presented with a 6-month history of progressive visual impairment in the right eye. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a well-enhanced, large parasellar mass involving the cavernous sinus, right frontal skull base, and ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses. In this review, we analyze the reported cases of CSF leak in such surgeries, determine their causes, clinical presentations and sequellae, and highlight the different methods to detect and manage them.

Many traumatically induced feline fractures have been reported to involve the mandible or skull and, in cats with maxillofacial trauma, traumatic dentoalveolar injuries are particularly prevalent. Traumatic dentoalveolar injuries can also often be found in otherwise healthy cats.

BACKGROUND: Hypoplasia of the internal carotid artery is a rare congenital malformation. It has been mainly associated with aneurysms and other pathologies but not in association with paraganglioma. The incidence is 0.01% of all the anomalies of carotid vessels. We present the case of a 74-year-old male with biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer who underwent [(11)C]choline PET/CT. The PET/CT demonstrated an intense focus of uptake within the skull base that was initially felt to potentially represent metastatic disease.
