The carriers of the diffuse interstellar bands (DIBs) in the interstellar medium are mostly unidentified, with C60+ as a notable exception. We here present electronic photodissociation spectra of the diatomic iron hydride cation FeH+, which underline that diatomic molecules can cause absorption bands that resemble DIBs. The spectrum is dominated by a broad absorption centered around 310 nm, which results from allowed transitions into the repulsive section of quintet state potential curves. BACKGROUND: Alport's syndrome (AS) is a genetically heterogeneous renal hereditary disease. Mutations in collagen type IV genes have been described to be responsible for X-linked (COL4A5), autosomal recessive, and autosomal dominant AS (COL4A3/COL4A4). Moreover, at least 40% of benign familial hematuria (BFH) cases cosegregate with the COL4A3/COL4A4 loci, following a dominant pattern of inheritance. Canine ehrlichiosis is being recognised with increasing frequency in many parts of the world. Based upon a detailed clinical and laboratory examination including a simple in vitro blood culture diagnostic test 373 cases have been classified into seven broad groups. These groups include acute, haemorrhagic, chronic, uraemic, subclinical, carrier state and those with babesiosis. While many of these groups overlap they will assist the clinician in diagnosis and allow the application of specific therapy before the disease progresses to a chronic irreversible stage.

Topical antibiotics are used for various purposes in dermatology. Some of the most common uses include treatment of acne, treatment and prevention of wound infection(s), impetigo or impetiginized dermatitis, and staphylococcal nasal carrier state. It is important for the dermatologist to be familiar with the spectrum of activity, the mechanism of action, and the variables that may interfere with the antibiotic of choice. The 64Cu incorporation into fibroblast clones obtained from three obligate and three suspected Menkes disease heterozygotes was studied. For each obligate heterozygote, two clonal cell populations were observed, one with a Menkes phenotype and one with a normal phenotype, as predicted by the Lyon hypothesis. The cloning results suggested a heterozygous state in two of the suspected carriers. The theoretical and practical limitation of the cloning method for identification of carriers of X linked diseases are discussed.
