Medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA), 5 micrograms/g body wt, was given to lactating female rats 1 day after parturition. Group 1 females suckled 10-12 young, with equal numbers of males and females, while Group 2 females each suckled 10 female young. The young were weaned at 21 days of age. Exposure to MPA advanced the day of vaginal opening by 1 day, and increased anogenital distance in Group 2 young. At autopsy between 80 and 100 days of age, the clitoris of Group 2 females was significantly greater than in controls, and ovarian and adrenal weights were reduced.

AIM: Clitoral size references are useful for diagnosing genital abnormalities. Despite the fact that examining the genitalia is an important aspect of newborn evaluation, few studies have been carried out to determine normal clitoral size in newborn infants. The aim of this study was to establish reference values for clitoral size in Nigerian newborn girls and to compare them with references from other ethnic populations.
METHODS: A total of 244 healthy newborn girls delivered at 28-43 weeks gestation were enrolled in the study, and clitoral lengths and widths were measured at <72 hours.

Ritual sexual mutilations affect 140million of women around the world with over three millions new cases per year. France is not spared with 55,000 mutilated women living on our territory. There is a simple, reliable and reproductible reconstructive surgical technique described by the French urologist Pierre Foldès. This technique is still unknown by patients and plastic surgeons. Through a clinical case, the authors discuss the principles, results and key points of this procedure.

In this exploratory study, we identify a positive relationship between vertical clitoral hood piercing and desire, frequency of intercourse and arousal. There were no dramatic differences in orgasmic functioning. Clinicians can play key roles in educating patients about potential outcomes and risks of genital piercing.
