The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence of plasmid-mediated AmpC beta-lactamases in Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae from five children's hospitals in China. Endometriosis is characterized by the presence of endometrial-like tissue located outside the uterine cavity. Recent evidence suggests that endometriosis may be an epigenetic disease, as well as an estrogen-dependent disease. Based on the unique steroid hormone receptor expression profile observed in endometriotic lesions as compared to eutopic endometrium, the present study aimed to gain further insight into the DNA methylation patterns of alternative promoters of the steroid receptor genes ESR1, ESR2 and PGR in intestinal deep endometriosis, one of the most aggressive forms of endometriosis.

The aim of this study is to assess the prevalence and molecular characterization of the extended spectrum β-lactamases (ESBL)-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae isolated from community acquired urinary tract infections and collected in five Moroccan cities during a 2010 survey. In this study we investigated the co-occurrence of resistance to non-beta-lactams among cefotaxime-resistant extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) producers (ESBL(+)) versus non-ESBL producers (ESBL(-)), from aquatic environments. Higher prevalence of resistance to tetracycline, fluoroquinolones and aminoglycosides were observed in ESBL(+). A retrospective epidemiological survey was carried out to determine the prevalence of carbapenemase producers among enterobacterial clinical isolates recovered in the center of maternity and neonatology of Monastir (Tunisia).
