Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is an uncommon mesenchymal neoplasm that usually arises in the pleura. Although this tumor has been described in other sites, including the head and neck area, in the oropharynx it is extremely rare. We report the first case of a SFT arising from the palatine tonsil of a 62-year-old man. The tumor consisted of spindle-shaped cells distributed in a haphazard pattern and presented atypical histological features such as hypercellular areas and high mitotic count. We present our experience with three patients, two of whom were women, 16, 28 and 44 years of age, presenting with leiomyomas of the ciliary body. Salient clinical features were involvement of the left eye and temporal quadrants in two cases and extension into the anterior chamber in the other. Neoplasms of the colonic submucosa are rare in children. Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are undifferentiated tumors, usually diagnosed by immunohistochemistry. During ultrasonographic examination following spontaneous abortion, an approximately 6-cm diameter mass of mixed echogenicity is detected in the uterine wall of a mature pig-tailed macaque (Macaca nemestrina). A case of a primary carcinoid tumor of the testis which occurred in a 57-year-old man is reported. The patient was treated by orchiectomy, and no clinical features of a carcinoid syndrome had been noted. The tumor measured 4.0 X 3.2 X 2.0 cm in size and was yellowish in color. BACKGROUND: Desminopathies are a clinically heterogeneous group of myopathies, with common histological findings in muscle biopsy. Clinically, they usually present with distal and/or proximal muscle weakness often associated with cardiomyopathy. Soft tissue sarcomas of the genitourinary tract are rare. Paratesticular sarcomas are extremely rare with majority of scrotal masses localizing to the testis and being neoplastic in nature. Paratesticular leiomyosarcomas (LMSs) are located in the spermatic cord, epididymis, or scrotum. However, their location in the scrotal skin or subcutaneous tissue is extremely rare.
